SCO PETER SPERANZA 5K RUN TO HELP THE CHILDREN
The Peter Speranza 5K Run to Help the Children benefits the developmentally disabled and physically challenged children who live at St. Christopher’s Home on the Sea Cliff campus of SCO Family of Services. The 5K Run is named in memory of Peter Speranza, former Board Member and longtime supporter of SCO.
In addition to the 5K, The ChemRX 1/2-Pint 1/2-Mile and the Middle School Mile offer something for children of all ages. Each runner will receive a race t-shirt and awards will be given to the top finishers in each age category. Refreshments will be provided after the race. SCO HOWARD F. TREIBER MEMORIAL GOLF OPEN
Since 1989, SCO Family of Services’ annual golf tournament has raised nearly $2 million to fund a broad array of human care programs for children and families in need. The Golf Open is named in memory of esteemed businessman and philanthropist, Howard F. Treiber.
Howard Treiber was Chairman of the Treiber Group LLC, which remains one of the largest and most established independent insurance and brokerage agencies in the U.S. Howard Treiber served as Chairman of the SCO Family of Services Board of Directors from 1987 to 1996 and was instrumental in guiding SCO on the strategic growth path we follow today.

22ND ANNUAL SCO SHEPHERD'S BALL
SCO Family of Services will honor Joseph and Daryl Boren at its annual fundraising gala, The Shepherd’s Ball, on Friday, November 14, 2008. Each year, the Shepherd’s Award recognizes individuals and community leaders most committed to serving those in need.
Joseph Boren is Chairman & CEO for AIG Environmental. Joe and Daryl will be presented with the Shepherd’s Award in honor of their commitment to helping the children and families served by SCO Family of Services. Their commitment to helping others is an inspiration to us all.
Vincent DeLaurentis, President and Chief Operating Officer of Getty Petroleum Marketing Inc., and Stephen Tyree, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Tyree Organization, are Co-Chairs of this year’s event.
Each year, the Shepherd’s Ball raises vital funds to benefit and support SCO Family of Services’ innovative programs that help protect children and strengthen families.
