to enable them to provide a safe and nurturing home.
- 400 children and adolescents who are severely emotionally
disturbed. Care is provided at the Madonna
Heights Campus in Dix Hills, LI, at the Ottilie
Campus in Jamaica, Queens and the SCO Family of Services
Community Residences in Queens Village and Deer Park.
Additionally, a therapeutic Family Based Treatment
program provides care and treatment in the homes of "professional
parents."
- More than 400 developmentally disabled children and adults
through 10 residential programs, a Foster Care program for
this special population, and in-home services that allow
children and adults to remain in their own homes.
SCO Family of Services provides:
- Community based preventive services that are building
blocks for the development of a healthy neighborhood. These
services are aimed at helping families build on their strengths
in order to overcome obstacles to self sufficiency.
- Care and shelter for the homeless. Twenty-six homeless
families live at the Stockholm Family Residence in Brooklyn;
also in Brooklyn, the agency has two transitional living
programs for homeless and runaway teens. In Long Island's
Suffolk County, seven shelters for homeless women and
their children are part of the Madonna Heights network.
SCO Family of Services believes:
That by supporting and nurturing the individual as well as
the family unit, the entire community is strengthened and
the quality of life is improved for all.
